Overview

Svare Professional Engineering (SPE) is in its thirtieth year of investigating electrical incidents.  Founded by Master Electrician and Electrical Engineer, Robert Svare, the company has grown from one electrician/engineer to a staff of seven, while maintaining its goal of finding the truth about electricity’s involvement (or lack of) in personal injury or property damage or destruction.  SPE uses the science and concepts of electricity, along with the reality of actual experience in electrical work and hands-on testing of claims to establish the most likely scenario of an incident.  We are a “hands-on” company that uses many facilities to test hypothesis to separate out what is possible from what is probable.

Although Dr. Svare and his staff have progressed through the educational system of learning new science and engineering, they have maintained their foundation in the real world by staying active in electrical design, installation and maintenance of the electrical power, control systems and equipment that are often cited as the cause of an incident.  By combining science and practice we are better able to help our clients evaluate a case. 

Along with our practical backgrounds we are active in teaching the science, skills and techniques of electrical investigation to the Fire Service, Law Enforcement, attorneys, insurance companies, corporations and other entities, world-wide.  Our teaching activities have been a great aid in preparing ourselves, our clients and others, including juries, to understand the basics of a case through the use of analogies and simple explanations.

Our goals are to continue improving our understanding of electrical incidents through education, training, and experimentation so that we can pass this knowledge on to our clients and others who become involved in the search for the truth.
